Omnitech’s previous website had been built around a much smaller business and product range. As the company grew, the limitations of that structure became increasingly apparent. The new platform was designed around how Omnitech actually works today: a large and evolving product catalogue, an extensive library of completed projects, technical resources, multiple customer types and a sales team that needs to keep information current. Products, projects, services, industries and resources were rebuilt as structured content rather than manually assembled pages, giving the website a much stronger foundation for future growth.
The project involved replacing the previous website infrastructure rather than simply modifying what was already there. Supported by Australian hosting and a more maintainable approach to managing products, projects and resources. Reusable content fields meant information could be entered once and then used throughout search results, filters, category pages, related content and product templates. This reduced repetitive administration while making the frontend experience more consistent.
Commercial manufacturing websites can easily become heavily technical or catalogue-driven. For Omnitech, the design needed to communicate the scale and professionalism of the business while still retaining the colour, energy and human experience associated with playgrounds. Large project photography places completed spaces at the centre of the website, supported by a cleaner interface and clearer content hierarchy. The result gives Omnitech a digital presence more representative of the scale of the company and the quality of its work, while allowing the playgrounds themselves to provide much of the personality.
Australian manufacturing is an important part of Omnitech’s positioning. The company manufactures playground equipment locally and works with other Australian businesses throughout the production and delivery process. For clients such as councils and organisations working through formal procurement or tender processes, local manufacturing can also be an important consideration. The redesign therefore gave greater prominence to Omnitech’s Australian manufacturing capabilities rather than allowing them to sit as secondary information within the site. Dedicated service, industry and solution pages were developed around the different areas of the business, creating clearer pathways for visitors while giving Omnitech more space to explain its capabilities, processes and expertise. These pages also provided a stronger foundation for future organic search visibility beyond individual product names.
For an Australian manufacturer, a website often has to do more than generate interest. It can become part of the research, specification and procurement process long before someone speaks with the sales team. Omnitech’s customers include organisations and project stakeholders who need to understand not only what products are available, but whether the business has the experience, resources and capability to deliver them. That makes clarity and depth of information especially important. The new website gives those visitors multiple ways to build confidence in Omnitech. Detailed product information supports early-stage research, completed projects demonstrate real-world experience, downloadable resources provide information that can be taken into planning and procurement processes, and capability-focused pages explain the broader expertise behind the product range. This is particularly valuable for manufacturers because purchasing decisions are rarely made from a single product page. Architects, councils, contractors, designers and procurement teams may interact with the business at different stages, each looking for different information. The website needed to support that longer decision-making process rather than focusing entirely on a quick conversion. It also helps translate something that can be difficult to communicate online: the scale of a physical manufacturing business. Showing the breadth of Omnitech’s product range, completed installations and capabilities in one coherent system gives prospective customers a much clearer sense of the organisation behind the products.
The redesigned website gave Omnitech a significantly more capable digital platform for presenting its products, projects and Australian manufacturing expertise. Advanced filtering, search, structured product data, downloadable resources and an easier content management system improved the experience for both customers and the internal Omnitech team, while creating a foundation that could continue expanding alongside the business.
